I have written before about how I have a special place in my heart for twins. My grandfather who I am named after and was my childhood hero was a twin. I grew up with twin siblings. And two of my daughters are twins. So I have had a "front row" seat to witness some of the unique and very special dynamics of twin-hood.
One of the things I have learned is that twins are definitely not just variations of the same individual. For as much as twins can be similar - it is not uncommon for them to have far more variation in their individual personalities. And this principle very much applies to Lauren and Olivia. Twins who I recently had the honor of photographing as their High School careers draw to a close and they get ready to set out on the next chapter of their lives.
I previously had the opportunity to do a photoshoot with Olivia and her guitar. If you missed that - it is on my website in a previous Blog Post. So I already knew about a number of her creative accomplishments in music, drama and illustration. But this was my first time meeting Lauren. And I must say I was equally as impressed with some of her philanthropic efforts. The latest of which involved her Hope Healing Cancer campaign team raising over $106,000.00 toward improving the lives of so many.
It is my personal belief that the world needs more individuals concerned about the welfare of others. As well as more artists to help hold a mirror up to society and stir thoughts about how things could be different. Could be better.
So best of luck to these two as they set off and prepare to be part of the next wave of torch bearers in the world.
