These images serve as a snapshot of the talent and passion of our latest Studio Dance Rep and Lakehill Prep Sophomore, Brityn. For our first photoshoot together, Brityn chose a unique location close to her home in Desoto, Texas. We met at the site of the city's first public mural. A piece of art celebrating diversity in the community.
The colorful modern work of art served as a perfect backdrop to Brityn's contemporary dance style. It also tied closely to some of her family's values. And to give even greater significance to the Dance Portrait Session, we photographed Brityn on the day before celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. day.
Brityn's choice of location is a perfect example of one of the suggestions I often give clients. If you can think of a portrait location that has special meaning to you, it will help to infuse the Portrait Session with a sense of connection and significance that other locations would not provide.
Each Dance Portrait photoshoot tells a story. And part of the story of this session, goes beyond Brityn's amazing talent and art to ideologies that help shape who we are as a society.
