Life is change. It is the big constant. Each of our journeys are in a different spot than they will be in tomorrow. Or where they were just yesterday. Both individually and in the groups we are a part of. While we are in the constant flow of daily changes we are not always aware of just how much things are re-shaping. And I don't know what kind of person you are...but for me it was one of the reasons I loved diving into the Hall Closet we had in our house growing up. There was a shelf toward the top of the closet where my Mom kept her picture albums. I used to love pulling one of them down and sitting down with it in my lap. "Wow! Look at Dad! He's just a kid!" or "Gosh you really look like your Mother in this picture!" Whatever it was...getting a gauge on just how much things had changed. Or a glimpse into a different time and place.
Christmas and it's approach always seems to prompt families to get together for pictures. Whether it's for Christmas cards, or the annual Family letter, or gifts for relatives - it's a tradition of sorts for many. Which leads to other traditions for future generations like sneaking into the closet to pull down an old Photo Album...
I am so glad that the Lefflers contacted us this year to help out with their Family Portrait. I can't say enough about what a great group of people they are. So it's been fun knowing them for the years we have known them. And watching them for part of their journey. Traci and I both commented on just how grown up the kids were getting. We love our role of freezing moments for people. Getting a snapshot of who and where they are. So that future generations might look at one of the images and say "Wow! Look at Dad! He's just a kid!" or "Gosh you really look like your Mother in this picture!"
