What a spectacularly fun group of girls to photograph. One of our Dance Reps, Zoe got some of her friends together at the end of one of their Summer Dance Workshop days and met us downtown for our shoot. Spending days together dancing obviously helped bring these girls closer into a tight knit group. It is exactly these kinds of close relationships that Group Shoots like this help celebrate.
We have been finding that these shoots where friends get together in recognition of special friendships and connections are becoming more and more popular. And maybe part of it is because it feel less like an "official" photo shoot and more like just hanging out with friends. Which we encourage playing off of this friendship. So we make sure to capture the dynamics of the group - but also make time to highlight each of the girls individually. Which for this shoot we did by asking each of the girls to think about some of their favorite pointe moves and preform them for us so we could spotlight them.
At the end of the shoot and the end of their dance day we encouraged the girls to take of their shoes and give their feet a break in the cool water. It was the perfect thing to spark a second wind in everyone to get some of the best action shots of the day.
If you have a group you think would be perfect for a Group Shoot drop us a line below. Or if you just want to say "Hi" or have questions that you need answers to - we will try to answer them. If they are regarding photography we are more likely to have helpful answers. If they are about Astro Physics or something similar we may just have to make something up...
