To mark Alice's achievement and benchmark this year of being named Junior Officer for the Lake Highlands HS Highlandettes, we met for a quick photoshoot. Which I naturally think is something filled with value. Sometimes when we are in the middle of things that we have chosen to invest ourselves in, we don't have the perspective of how these things are shaping and molding who we are. I know for me, in my daily life, I often find myself referencing my experiences from High School of being Yearbook Editor or Music Critic, in Drama, the Swim Team, Debate or other activities.
Alice, and the other Highlandettes, spend countless hours working on and investing themselves in their performances and in representing the group's legacy while simultaneously carrying its history forward. Just as the football team, cheer squad, debate team and all the other organizations do for each of their disciplines. Every one of these experiences become a part of who that person is moving forward on their journey. It will be part of their story and their history. They will be experiences they relay to the significant others in their lives, tell their children and reminisce with old friends about.
